Our favorite restaurant on the square is Villa Los Dorados. The restaurant is on the south side of the square and it serves quality breakfasts, lunches and dinners at very reasonable prices. Expect to pay from $5.00 USD to $12 USD for a dinner entree. Sea food entrees are usually the most expensive.
There is usually a perpetual "happy hour" providing beer and mixed drinks at 2 for 1 prices. The waiters at Villa Los Dorados are all very friendly and speak English very well. This is a great place to sit and watch the world go by as a marvelous parade of divers, cruisers and locals is always available to compliment your food and drink.

Las Palmas-A Restaurant Does Not Have To Be Pretty To Serve Good Food!
Ready for real Mexican restaurant? Our favorite spot for a budget breakfast or lunch, admittedly off the path followed by the tourists from the cruise ships, is Las Palmas restaurant on Avenue 25 and Calle 3. Do not let exterior appearances fool you, this a great restaurant serving quality food at budget prices. Breakfast is usually not too busy, but the place is often packed with locals and interesting travelers from about noon to 3:00. Las Palmas is not open for dinner. Give it a try. The grilled grouper, our favorite, is about $5.00 US, less than half of the price it would be any where in the tourist zone.
